The Genetics Program at Michigan State University is one of the outstanding graduate programs for genetics research and scholarship in the country.

The strength and uniqueness of the Genetics Graduate Program lie in its interdisciplinary nature, allowing graduate students a great deal of flexibility in designing their individualized programs of research and study, while maintaining a core Ph.D. graduate program and strong interactions among the students and faculty.

The Genetics Graduate Program includes more than 100 faculty members and coordinates the graduate work of Ph.D. candidates who conduct research in microbial, fungal, plant, insect and mammalian genetics. Genetics Program faculty members maintain strong, funded research programs and are affiliated with over 11 departments or programs.
